Donner Ski Ranch in Norden, Ca. was host to Round 3 of the 4-Round Cal-Neva Extreme Rockcrawling series. Located high atop the infamous Donner Summit, a few patches of snow left over from this year’s late winter added a little extra challenge to some of the the already difficult obstacles. Due to multiple classes of competitors and many different obstacle stages in this competition, the action at Cal-Neva is spectacular and virtually non-stop.
The Predator Off Road Team of Mike Bou and Mike Cunningham took the round-3 win in their #777 Full Body class, edging out the #11 Welder Bill’t team of Bill Rowlette and Mike Goodwyn. Rowlette and Goodwyn still have the series lead, but the results of round-4 will determine the final series victor.
Jimmy Haughy and Clayten Banks in the “Fighting 55″ finished up in 2nd place in Round 3, retaining their series lead by a narrow margin. The pressure is on for the final round, with only 1 point separating the 1st and 2nd place in the Super-Mod class!
The 4th and final round of the 2011 Cal-Neva Extreme Series 2011 will also take place at Donner Ski Ranch on August 20th and 21st. If you haven’t seen one of these events in person, be sure to get up to the summit at Donner for the finals!
